No one understands parking problems better than the ordinary car owner in the capital city of New Delhi. But in this city of the ruling elite, the strange fact is that even bureaucrats are not spared. There is a massive parking problem in most government departments in and around Raisina Hill and the CGO complex. The problem is so acute that even senior bureaucrats don’t get parking in their office premises, even though space is reserved for all officials above the under-secretary rank. Investigation revealed that some junior staffers have been commandeering car parking stickers meant for senior bureaucrats, so some departments have started issuing fresh stickers with the names of the official concerned.
