Industries Minister Subhash Desai told PTI that the plots were given away to industrialists many years ago and they have not been able to setup the units within the stipulated time.
"Notices were sent by MIDC to 4000 industrialists who had failed to utilise the plots alloted to them. We want the land for industrial development and not for just land deals with private sector," Desai said.
"We will re-allot the plots to those who wish to invest in the state and if the units are not set up in a time bound manner, the plots will come back to MIDC without any proceedings," he added.
"The non-utilised land would come back to us,"he added.
He said this would help those industrialists who wish to invest in the state expeditiously and show results.
Desai said the state's textile policy would be revised to include revival of spinning mills in Vidarbha and North Maharashtra and the policy would include steps to set up new mills.
Similarly, a textile cluster in Amravati would be soon set up to develop enterpreneurship of local talent.
The textile park inaugurated in Amravati last month has attracted eight top companies in the field of textile from different parts of the country including Siyaram, he said.
"We will concentrate on B2B (Business to business) tie-ups. Small scale industries in Germany are also interesting in forging good partnerships in the state. German small scale industries have good technology and funds to invest, he said.
