The first 'Shankar Dayal Singh Janbhasha Samman' has been conferred on the International Hindi Association, USA and would be presented by Meira Kumar, Speaker of the Lok Sabha on December 27 in a function at the India International Centre to mark culmination of his 75th birth anniversary celebrations.
The award has been instituted by the Shankar Sanskriti Pratishthan.
Singh had authored more than thirty books and edited many more.
