Bathinda central jail to have double-storey building

A decision to this effect was taken by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at a high-level meeting with officers of the jail department here, an official spokesman said.

The double storey modern central jail at Bathinda would cover an area of 40 acres.

Construction plan re-designed within a week as per their requirements to accommodate about 2,500 inmates.

He assured that the state government would arrange 28 acres in addition to the existing land for further expansion of the jail in future.
