"To some extent government employees get relief following time-to-time hike in dearness allowances. But it is not the case with a large section of the people, which includes marginal farmers, farm and other labourers," Ajsu party spokesman Deo Sharan Bhagat said here.
Asking how could farmers increase income with every increase in the diesel price, Bhagat said, "The farmers are facing several problems to meet expenses for diesel and fertiliser. Therefore, the central government should address their problems sympathetically".
Bhagat objected to the cap of six subsidised cylinders and the Congress-ruled states giving out three additional subsidised cylinders, saying the Centre should re-consider its decision and provide nine cylinders on subsidy to all states.
