Ten sentenced to life in jail

District Judge Sambhu Nath Chatterjee sent ten people to life in jail for murdering Basudeb Ghosh of Chapra.

Basudeb Ghosh was murdered by a group of people on 31 July in 2011 and the body was found lying in a field at his locality with wounds made by sharp weapons.

Sudama Mondal, Prabhat Barik, Panga Barik, Bappa Mondal, Netai Mondal, Sudhanya Mondal, Subrata Mondal, Bablu Mondal, Dilip Mondal and Rajesh Mondal were jailed for killing Ghosh in a dispute over rotting of jute in the field.
