Around seven members of one Dhedhiya family from the village allegedly attacked Mohliben Dhansingh Rathwa at her house on Sunday, dragged her out and set her on fire, an officer from Rangpur police station told PTI.
The accused were apprehended from the village today and a search is on to trace three other members suspected to have been involved in the attack, he said.
According to police, the accused suspected the victim practiced black magic and was responsible for the death of their relative Shankar Rathwa who died a month ago.
Though Rathwa died of snake bite, the accused consulted a tantrik who is believed to have instigated them to brand Mohliben as a witch.
On Sunday, the accused allegedly went to the woman's house, scared away her husband and children before setting her on fire, police said.
A case of murder has been registered against four persons, they added.
