In view of the BRICS Summit, Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday issued a detailed advisory announcing diversions at 22 points and regulating vehicular movement on more than 35 roads. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the motorcade rehearsal for the BRICS Summit 2026, announcing that restrictions and diversions will affect several key roads in the national Capital on September 2, officials said on Tuesday. Several key roads in the national capital will see diversions between 11 am and 3 pm on Tuesday owing to a motorcade rehearsal ahead of the BRICS Summit 2026, Delhi Traffic Police said. The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam between September 11 and 13. The traffic advisory identifies 22 diversion points and more than 35 roads that will be affected during the rehearsal. Traffic movement in central Delhi is likely to be affected on April 8 in view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, police said. According to an advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police, congestion is expected on key stretches around the stadium from 12 pm to midnight, with the match between the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans scheduled between 7 pm and 10.30 pm. The advisory said that, depending on traffic conditions, diversions and restrictions may be imposed on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg during the day. The Delhi Traffic Police conducted five special joint enforcement drives near the domestic terminals of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport this week to remove encroachments, officials said on Saturday. According to an official statement, the drive was carried out in coordination with a multinational conglomerate and locals of Mehram Nagar village with the goal of decongesting roads and ensuring smoother traffic flow for passengers and commuters travelling to and from the airport. The Mehram Nagar village is located near Terminal 1 of the IGI airport. Action was taken against unauthorised hawkers and vehicles parked in violation of traffic regulations along the roadside that were obstructing the flow of traffic, the statement read. Delhi Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions around the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium near the Raj Ghat on Saturday in view of Honey Singh's concert, officials said on Friday. According to an advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police, congestion is expected between 2 pm and 10 pm due to the arrival of audience for the concert scheduled at the stadium from 4 pm to 11 pm. The stretches likely to be affected include IP Marg (MGM Road), Vikas Marg and the Ring Road stretch between Rajghat and IP Depot. Traffic diversion and restrictions will be in place on IP Marg and Vikas Marg, while heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply on the stretch from Rajghat to IP Marg during the specified period, the advisory said. The function will be held from 11 am to 4 pm due to which traffic may be affected on several key stretches including ITO Chowk, Ring Road, Mall Road, Rajpur Road, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Chauburja Marg, Bhiku Ram Jain Marg, Shamnath Marg, Boulevard Road and Lok Niwas Marg, according to an advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police. The police said diversions may be implemented as per need at several points including PS Civil Lines red light, Shamnath Marg red light, Tis Hazari Court red light, Khoya Mandi U-turn, Khyber Pass red light, St Stephen's red light, Rajpur Authority Cut and MCD Chowk. "All vehicles will be diverted from these points as and when required, except emergency vehicles," the advisory said. The Delhi Police has issued a traffic public advisory ahead of the upcoming AI Impact Summit and the commencement of CBSE examinations and stated that elaborate traffic and facilitation arrangements have been put in place in coordination with the education authorities. The AI Impact Summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital from February 16 to February 20. The CBSE board examinations are also scheduled to begin from February 17, which is expected to significantly increase traffic movement across several parts of the city.
