New Bihar govt committed to creation of 10 mn jobs in next 5 yrs: Guv

Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday said the Nitish Kumar government was committed to the creation of 1 crore jobs in the next five years. He was addressing a joint session of both Houses of the state legislature, which had been convened upon the NDA's return to power in the assembly elections. "50 lakh jobs have been created in the state already. The government has set a target of creating 1 crore jobs in the next five years," he said. CII seeks framework to position India as hub for innovation-led GCCs

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Sunday suggested a framework for a National Global Capability Centres (GCC) Policy, that can position the country as the global headquarters for innovation-driven GCCs, generate 20-25 million jobs and contribute up to USD 600 billion in economic impact. The framework for National GCC Policy, encompasses the setting up Digital Economic Zones, deepening industry-academia partnerships and establishing a GCC Council for inter-ministerial coordination and centre-state alignment. The implementation of the National GCC Policy framework, alongside the Model State Policy, can double India's GCC footprint by 2030, and make India the world's premier architect of enterprise innovation, the industry lobby argued. Festive hiring likely to generate 216,000 seasonal jobs in 2025: Report

India's festive season is expected to generate over 2.16 lakh seasonal jobs in the second half of 2025, marking a 15-20 per cent year-on-year increase in gig and temporary employment, a report said on Wednesday. Union Minister Harsh Malhotra handed over appointment letters to 258 candidates during Rozgar Mela here on Saturday. This fair is part of PM Narendra Modi's nationwide initiative, where similar events across 47 locations benefited over 51,000 youths. Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra, the Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Road Transport and Highways, said the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided 1.5 times more jobs to youths than the previous UPA government. "Prime Minister Modi has distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various government departments and organisations through video conferencing," Malhotra said.
