Noida International Airport (NIA) on Friday announced that it will begin commercial flight operations from June 15, marking a key milestone in the long-awaited greenfield aviation project in Uttar Pradesh. IndiGo will operate the first passenger flight from the airport, followed shortly by Akasa Air and Air India Express, according to a statement issued by the airport operator. The commencement of operations comes after its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the receipt of approval for the Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. The Allahabad High Court has upheld land acquisition for the expansion of the Noida International Airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, dismissing petitions filed by affected landowners. The court held that the acquisition process had been carried out in full compliance with the provisions of the 2013 land acquisition law and that there was no material irregularity in it. A division bench comprising Justice M C Tripathi and Justice Kunal Ravi Singh while deciding a batch of writ petitions observed, "In view of the foregoing discussion and for the reasons stated herein above, this Court finds no merit in the challenge raised by the petitioners to the impugned notifications dated April 11, 2025 and October 24, 2025." Noida International Airport on Tuesday said it has received approval for its Aerodrome Safety Plan from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), marking a key step towards flight operations. The Noida airport has been developed as the second international airport for the Delhi-NCR region, complementing Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Airport services company SATS's multi-modal cargo logistics facility at Noida International Airport is ready for operations as the mega aviation hub is set to be inaugurated next month, a company official said. The Singapore-based company has already invested close to Rs 1,000 crore in building the new cargo facility.
