Vikram Solar bags 336 MW supply order from L&T for Khavda solar project

Solar solutions provider Vikram Solar on Monday said it has secured a 336 MW module supply order from L&T Construction for the Khavda solar project in Gujarat. As part of this order, Vikram Solar will supply its advanced Hypersol G12R modules, based on N-type technology, a company statement said. Govt launches ₹2.3-cr startup scheme to boost rooftop solar installations

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) on Saturday announced the launch of a Rs 2.3-crore startup innovation challenge with an aim to accelerate rooftop solar installation and renewable energy adoption in the country. This innovation challenge aims to identify and support breakthrough solutions for India's rooftop solar and distributed renewable energy ecosystem, a ministry statement said. Rayzon Solar to file draft papers with Sebi for Rs 1,500 crore IPO

Solar panel manufacturer Rayzon Solar Ltd is planning to file its draft papers with markets regulator Sebi by the end of the month, as it prepares for about Rs 1,500-crore initial public offering (IPO), people familiar with the plan said on Friday. The Surat-based company has already roped in top investment banks to manage the public offering. According to the people familiar with the plan, the company is looking to raise funds through fresh issuance of equity shares and proceeds are expected to be used for for its expansion plans. SEPC wins ₹650 crore EPC contract for 133 MW solar project in Maharashtra

Engineering solutions provider SEPC on Thursday said it has bagged a Rs 650-crore order to set up solar capacities totalling 133 MW in Maharashtra. The company has received a letter of award from Parmeshi Urja Ltd, Kolkata, for EPC solar power projects at 26 locations in four districts of Maharashtra, it said in a statement. The scope of work involves the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of plant and equipment, including civil and structural works for a 133 MW Solar Power Project, to be implemented across four districts in Maharashtra -- Sambhaji Nagar, Dhule, Solapur, and Nanded, as per the statement. The project is part of the PM-KUSUM Yojana, a central government scheme aimed at promoting solar energy for agricultural and rural use. Don't depend on freebies, produce own solar power, says Prahlad Joshi

Union Minister for Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi urged people on Thursday not to be dependent on the governments for freebies, but to produce their own solar power. Joshi attended a consultative meeting with the consumers, electricity supply company (ESCOM) officials, and people's representatives to discuss Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana here on Thursday. "I will not comment on what the motives were behind the distribution of free power generated using environmentally harmful core sector material. But sustainability in the power sector is going to be the key to a safer future for the country," said Joshi, who is also the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. According to Joshi, Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2024 aims to provide free electricity to households in India by providing a subsidy to install solar panels on their roofs. Tata Power Renewables Energy commissions 431 MW DC solar project in MP

Tata Power on Tuesday said its arm Tata Power Renewables Energy has commissioned a 431 MW DC Solar project in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. Spanning across 1,635.63 acres, the project features a unique combination of single-axis trackers and bi-facial modules, thereby setting a new benchmark for solar energy generation in India, a Tata Power statement said. This innovative integration has boosted the efficiency of the entire system by over 15 per cent, enabling peak power supply for extended hours, it added. Solar rooftop solutions provider Eastman Auto & Power Ltd on Thursday said it plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore by 2025-26 aided by capacity expansion on renewal energy side.
