ACC February sales up 17% to 2 mn tonne

Cement maker ACC today reported 17% increase in sales for the month of February to 2 million tonne.

The company, in which Swiss major Holcim has the majority stake, sold 1.71 million tonne cement in the same month last year, ACC said in a statement.

Production of the building material by the company also went up to 1.97 million tonne during the month from 1.71 million tonne in February 2010.

In January, ACC's sales and production were at 2.04 million tonne and 2.06 million tonne, respectively.
