As power distribution reforms through UDAY come in for questioning by analysts, Tata Power Delhi, one of the three private power distribution companies in the national Capital, sees privatisation of processes, if not ownership, as the key to get over the cycle of loss and debt in the sector. In an interview with Jyoti Mukul & Shreya Jai, Sanjay Banga, the company's chief executive officer, talks about the step they have taken to improve billing even as the company has surplus power tied up. What are your views on UDAY programme and has the performance of state-owned discoms improved?
In the last 3-4 years, the network has improved because of a lot of funding by the Centre. Also,
