Pearson Education India appoints Kawatra as CEO

Leading education group Pearson Education has appointed Ranu Kawatra as the new President and Chief Executive Officer for its India operations.

Prior to this appointment, Kawatra was with iDiscoveri -- an entrepreneurial organisation focused on education -- Pearson Education said in a statement.

"The education sector is at an interesting inflection point and is attracting a lot of investment. I now have the opportunity to take forward Pearson's multiple path breaking education initiatives in this domain," Kawatra said.

He has also worked at Cadbury and Gillette/Procter & Gamble.

Pearson Education India publishes books in English language teaching (ELT), humanities, sciences and mathematics, from primary to senior secondary classes.
