Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has recorded the best-ever monthly production of hot metal and crude steel in November, since the inception of the plant in 1958.
During the month of November, 2010, RSP registered a production of 2,00,029 tonnes hot metal from its four blast furnaces, 1,89,850 tonnes of crude steel from its steel melting shops and 1,62,855 tonnes of steel, an official RSP release said today.
These figures represent capacity utilisation of nearly 122 per cent, 122 per cent and 119 per cent, respectively, which also indicates growth of three per cent, four per cent and 21 per cent over November, 2009, the release said.
