Wipro's Chief Business Officer quits

Satishchandra Doreswamy had joined Wipro in 2011 from TCS where he was the vice president and Global Head for Infrastructure Services.

About a fortnight after Wipro announced new organisational structure and appointed former TCS business process outsourcing unit head Abid Ali Neemuchwala as the chief operating officer (COO) as well as group president, Satishchandra Doreswamy who was the chief business officer at the Bengaluru-based company has resigned. Confirming this development, Wipro said he has quit to pursue opportunities outside the company. Doreswamy had joined Wipro in 2011 from Tata Consultancy Services where he was the vice president and Global Head for Infrastructure Services.

At Wipro, he was responsible for focus are building capabilities around business transformation driving large and strategic transformation deals and inducting next generation tools, processes and practices among others.

 

In March this year, Wipro had announced a series of internal rejig which included creation of the positions of Group President and chief operating officer (COO), seen as a clear number two position in the company after that of the CEO. The company had also promoted two service lines Heads as presidents and created one new service line called Wipro Analytics replacing the Advance Technologies & Solutions service line.
