India has added 40,888 Covid cases in the past 7 days

India reported an increase of 4,103 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 40,370. The country is thirty-eighth among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On June 11, it added 8,329 cases to take its total caseload to 43,213,435. And, with 10 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,757, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.

With 1,508,406 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 10, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,949,271,111. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,648,308 — or 98.69 per cent of total caseload — with 4,216 new cured cases being reported on June 11.
