DATA STORY: UP administers record 3.3 mn doses in 24 hrs; active cases drop

India has so far administered 699,062,776 vaccine doses. That is 2114.6 per cent of its total caseload, and 50.1 per cent of its population

India on Tuesday reported a net decrease of 12,010 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 392,864. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 2.09 per cent (one in 48). The country is seventh among the most affected countries by active cases. On Monday, it added 31,222 cases to take its total caseload to 33,058,843 from 33,027,621 — an increase of 0.1%. And, with 290 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 441,042, or 1.33 per cent of total confirmed infections.
