Sonia misleading people, spreading lies: Modi
S Gandhi had also claimed Modi was instigating the people of state by raising concern over border security through issue of Sir Creek

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi once again took a jibe at Congress president Sonia Gandhi asking her to do her homework before coming to the state for election campaign.
He further accused her of misleading the people of the country and spreading lies with her claim that Gujarat government was misusing Central funds. Modi also came down heavily on Gandhi on the issue of Sir Creek and refuted here charges that he was trying to instigate the people by raising border security concerns.
"Sonia Gandhi came to Gujarat today but today also she came without doing her homework. Spreading lies and trying to mislead the people," Modi said during an election rally in Padra, Vadodara district. On Gandhi’s comments that the UPA has given more money to Gujarat that the BJP-led NDA, Modi said, "Do not resort to such lies and mislead the nation. Gujarat gets Rs 8,000 crore per year less as compared to what it was getting during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s NDA Government."
On Gandhi’s claim that Modi was instigating the people of state by raising concern over border security through issue of Sir Creek, Modi said that the issue was important for the state and was yet to receive an answer from the Prime Minister.
"Prime Minister must tell the people that there is no deal with Pakistan on Sir Creek. Why can’t he say this in clear words?" Modi questioned.
“For the people of Gujarat, Sir Creek is a part of our state. And you are ready to give it to Pakistan? Can we give Gujarat’s land to Pakistan? Today and tomorrow there are talks. Television is showing Pakistan delegation will come to India. My fears are right... Soniaji tell your government to answer us clearly that we wont give an inch of our land to Pakistan,” he added.
Modi also questioned the UPA chairperson as to what happened to Congress’ promise of 2009 to bring down prices. “Soniaji even today said nothing on price rise," he said.
He said, "When we do not give the keys of our house to unknown people even for 15 days, how can we give the future of Gujarat to those we do not know." Modi also refuted the claim of Gandhi that Gujarat was getting electricity from Central government.
“Sonia Gandhi says Centre is giving power to Gujarat. Did she come with 2007 papers? Five years ago your government cut off 200 MW power supply to Gujarat overnight. When we asked why? We were told that because Mumbai has shortage and people from all over the world come there so they needed the electricity. It has been years that no electricity has come from Centre. Do not mislead the people of Gujarat,” Modi said.
