Isro's new commercial arm invites private sector to make PSLV rockets

Space agency plans to stop procuring parts to assemble rockets, will leave the job entirely to private industry; first launch of PSLV completely built by industries planned for 2021

The Indian Space Research Organization (Isro)'s commercial arm NewSpace India Ltd has called for Expressions of Interest (EoI) from domestic private sector to make five Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLV) rockets.

NewSpace India said that an Indian industry consortium will be responsible for end-to-end realisation of the solid and liquid fuel powered stages/engines of the rocket/PSLV.

A pre-EoI conference is scheduled at the Isro headquarters in Bengaluru on August 26, while interested parties have to submit their EoI queries on or before August 21.
