JMM leader arrested for disrupting polls

JMM leader Babbar Khan was arrested here today for disrupting polling in Jamshedpur parliamentary seat on Thursday.
Deputy superintendent of police Dinesh Oraon said a case had been lodged against Khan, the vice-president of JMM's East Singhbhum District Committee, on the statement of the presiding officer of the concerned polling booth at Mango in the steel city.
Khan, the statement said, had barged into the booth along with supporters and heckled the polling personnel on duty in protest against alleged bogus voting.
He also tampered with the EVM, which resulted in disruption of polling for sometime.
The deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer Ravindra Agarwal had ordered for an inquiry into the incident and asked the magistrate on duty to submit a report in this connection.
