Sonia speaking half truth: BJP
Senior BJP leader Balbir Punj reacted to Gandhi's statement that the BJP had not allowed the Lokpal bill to be passed in the Rajya Sabha

The BJP on Wednesday found Congress president Sonia Gandhi's claims that Congress was behind Gujarat's development, during an election rally there was disappointing and said that the UPA chairperson was speaking only half truth.
Reacting to Gandhi's statement that BJP had not allowed the Lokpal bill to be passed in the Rajya Sabha, senior BJP leader Balbir Punj said, "It is disappointing that Gandhi has made such a statement. She is speaking half truth." Gandhi was speaking due to political reasons, he said about UPA chairperson's speech in Gujarat on Wednesday. She was in Rajkot to flag off Congress's election campaign in the state.
Punj said that the entire nation had witnessed that after the Lokpal Bill was introduced in parliament, parties had suggested amendments to its original form. The parliament was in session till midnight after which it ended, hence the bill remained pending, he added.
On Gandhi's call for a new Gujarat, Punj said,"Should Gujarat go on the lines of Andhra Pradesh or Kerala or any other Congress ruled states where the corruption is rampant."
Gujarat was far ahead in development than most states in the country. "Show us one state where development is like that of Gujarat, he asked.
