Here's a look at the anatomy of votes in Lok Sabha elections 2019

The Congress topped charts in losing seats massively

The landslide victory of Narendra Modi-led BJP has actually obviated any need for further analysis. But a deeper look at the results throws up some interesting facts about the sweeping victory:

Tough contests agnostic to party or region

 

 

Twenty-nine seats were won with a margin of less than 10,000 votes in the election, and 14 parties emerged victorious in these.

This means that thin-slice victories were dispersed across parties, or, that no party benefitted too much or lost too much narrowly.
