According to a research report by technology company, MoMagic, the top three most purchased brands in the country are Samsung, Micromax and Sony/HTC/Lava. Further, brands which contribute maximum to app downloads include Samsung (40 per cent), Micromax (18 per cent), Sony (7 per cent), HTC and Lava (6 per cent each), Xolo and Intex (4 per cent each).
As per findings of the report, the top five most popular categories for app downloads include games, social networking, entertainment, utility and education. Electronics (28 per cent) and computers (19 per cent) emerged as the top two categories with maximum number of app purchases. The top three states which contributed to maximum app downloads include Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi. The research report findings are based on data collected from 15 states, 180 plus cities, 15,000 retails shops and 100 plus sales force.
