Market end lower on political upheaval

Broader markets drop nearly 1%, moving in line with benchmark indices

Markets ended lower this Monday on political uncertainty surrounding ruling Congress party after the withdrawal of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party last week.
The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share index Sensex dropped 55.21 points and provisionally ended at 18,680.39  while the National Stock Exchange's 50-share Nifty fell 16.35 points at 5,635 on provisional basis.
