The Nifty is up 78 points at 3,975.
Wipro has zoomed 5.7% to Rs 440. Reliance Infrastructure has surged 4.4% to Rs 733, and Satyam has rallied over 4% to Rs 450.
BHEL, HDFC Bank, Reliance Communications and ONGC have moved up around 3.5% each to Rs 1,404, Rs 1,000, Rs 410 and Rs 818, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro has gained 3.3% at Rs 2,210. Infosys, Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced around 3% each to Rs 1,764, Rs 138 and Rs 453, respectively.
SBI has added 2.5% to Rs 1,051. Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Reliance are up around 2% each at Rs 712, Rs 601 and Rs 2,082, respectively.
ITC and Tata Motors have shed 2.3% each at Rs 179 and Rs 399, respectively.
ACC has slipped 2% to Rs 495. HDFC and Grasim have shed 1.6% each at Rs 1,806 and Rs 1,725, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates is down 1% at Rs 134.
Out of 2,627 stocks traded so far, 1,745 have declined, 821 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
