Brazilian banker Roger Agnelli, who turned Vale into one of the world's biggest mining companies, was killed in a plane crash in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
According to the Guardian, Agnelli, his wife and two children were among seven killed when his private plane slammed into two houses, minutes after taking off from an airport in northern Sao Paulo.
Emergency services said a pilot and six passengers were killed in the crash and one person on the ground was injured.
Aviation authorities confirmed that Agnelli was the owner of the plane.
Agnelli was reportedly travelling to a wedding ceremony in Rio de Janeiro with his wife Andreia, son Joao, daughter Anna Carolina, and their two spouses.
