Chief Minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy, while attending a press conference on Wednesday (November 13), put forward the proposals of the Sports Authority of India which includes the construction of a Football Academy and an International level Golf club villa in the state.
"In order to give a boost to sports, the Sports Authority of India has submitted two significant proposals. One is the proposal of a Kozhikode Football Academy.If sufficient land is provided by the Kozhikode University, there will be an investment of about 200- 300 crores ($2-3 billion) to start a Football Academy. The second proposal includes an international level Golf Club villa and a Golf club in Thiruvananthapuram,and it has been decided to take up this proposal ahead," said Chandy.
He also added that the government has decided to upgrade a lower primary school in a tribal village in Wayanad district.
"In Wayanad district, Thirunelli, Appappara, there is a tribal area with a lower primary school. Out of the 249 students 149 students belong to the Schedule tribe group. Considering that there is no upper primary school nearby, the government has decided to upgrade the school."added Chandy.
