Launching a frontal attack on the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged the people to eliminate dynastic politics and vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to change the state's destiny.
Prime Minister Modi, who formally kicked off the BJP's election campaign in poll-bound Jharkhand, made an appeal to the appeal to eliminate dynastic politics for the state's development.
Accusing the ruling party of looting Jharkhand shamelessly, Prime Minister Modi said this land is rich, but the state government has destroyed the dreams of the people.
"The government here says that they will not allow the ministers from Delhi to come. Is that how it works? If you want Jharkhand to progress, you must rid the state of this 'family' politics," he said.
"If they are in power, their families will be happy, but nothing good will happen for the people. Free Jharkhand from this family politics," he added.
Prime Minister Modi, who is also scheduled to address a rally at Chandwa in Palamu District, urged the people to give him an opportunity.
"Do you want Jharkhand to develop? Give me a chance to serve you, to change the future of Jharkhand," said Prime Minister Modi.
"I am here to embrace Jharkhand, to do whatever I can for you. I am here to change Jharkhand's destiny. I need your blessings to change the situation in Jharkhand," he added.
Asserting that generating employment is his top priority, Prime Minister Modi said Jharkhand cannot lag behind at a time when India is progressing at a rapid pace.
"If we rid this country of these small ills, there is no stopping India from growing. We have spent 60 years in trouble and have seen the ills of casteism, provincialism. There is just one way out- development," he added.
The Prime Minister also used the occasion to highlight the 'Jan Dhan Yojna' launched by his government at the Centre.
"We made the 'Jan Dhan Yojna' possible. The work that was not done in 60 years, we did it in 60 days," said Prime Minister Modi.
"I want to build toilets for my mothers and sisters. We want to build toilets in schools," he added.
Thanking the people of Jharkhand for supporting the BJP during the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Modi alleged that those drunk on power must know there is no place for arrogance in a democracy.
Reaching out to the farmers and adivasis in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Modi said: "When I was in Australia, I met the agriculture scientists there and discussed about the scientific means of increasing the per acre yield of the farm land. This will help those poor farmers, who have small farm lands."
"Whenever I go on a foreign trip and meet global leaders, the only thing that I keep in mind is how I can help India, the poor people of India, the adivasis and the backward brothers and sisters of the country," he added.
Prime Minister Modi, who returned from a three-nation tour yesterday, addressed the rally here amid unprecedented security.
The first phase of the five-phased polling in the state will be held on Tuesday for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.
