Sensex ends 147 points up, Nifty trades ahead of 8,150

The market posted gains for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday after remaining range bound throughout the day. The Sensex closed with a gain of 147 points at 26,932. Nifty on the other hand ended at 8,152.

The benchmark indices maintained resistance with an exponential moving average. Counters such as Tata Motors, ITC were the top gainers on the benchmark while BHEL, Infosys, NTPC, Maruti and Axis Bank were major laggards.
