All the sectoral indices on BSE drop

The S&P BSE Realty index slumped 5.73% and led losers from sectoral indices on BSE
The S&P BSE Sensex slumped 767.53 points or 2.17% to 35,129.08. The introduction of the long-feared long-term capital gains, or LTCG, tax on stocks in the Union Budget 2018-19 roiled investors. Investors were also miffed as the fiscal deficit target for FY2018 was extended to 3.5% of GDP in the Budget, from 3.2% pegged earlier. Negative cues from global markets also spoiled sentiment.
Among the sectoral indices on BSE, the S&P BSE Oil & Gas index (down 2.8%), the S&P BSE Energy index (down 3.04%), the S&P BSE Capital Goods index (down 3.46%), the S&P BSE Industrials index (down 3.58%), the S&P BSE Utilities index (down 3.52%), the S&P BSE Realty index (down 5.73%), the S&P BSE Power index (down 3.56%), the S&P BSE Basic Materials index (down 3.73%), the S&P BSE Bankex (down 2.45%), the S&P BSE Consumer Durables index (down 3.35%), the S&P BSE Finance index (down 2.92%), The S&P BSE Auto index (down 3.18%), the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index (down 3.59%), the S&P BSE Metal index (down 2.33%), and the S&P BSE Telecom index (down 2.9%) underperformed the Sensex.
The S&P BSE Healthcare index (down 1.86%), the S&P BSE IT index (down 0.39%), the S&P BSE Teck index (down 0.74%) and the S&P BSE FMCG index (down 1.03%), outperformed the Sensex.
