Basic materials stocks move up

Basic materials stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Basic Materials index increasing 18.8 points or 0.92% at 2065.35 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, NOCIL Ltd (up 13.33%), DCW Ltd (up 10.11%),Everest Industries Ltd (up 9.75%),Bodal Chemicals Ltd (up 9.6%),National Peroxide Ltd (up 8%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd (up 6.42%), Vinati Organics Ltd (up 5.08%), Mangalam Organics Ltd (up 4.99%), Visaka Industries Ltd (up 4.98%), and Shree Pushkar Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (up 4.96%).

On the other hand, Uniply Industries Ltd (down 4.9%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd (down 2.87%), and Vedanta Ltd (down 2.74%) turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 23.11 or 0.07% at 31719.97.

The Nifty 50 index was up 4.6 points or 0.05% at 9286.9.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 37.28 points or 0.35% at 10816.84.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 6.91 points or 0.18% at 3788.32.

On BSE,858 shares were trading in green, 578 were trading in red and 101 were unchanged.
