Basic materials shares gain

Basic materials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Basic Materials index rising 11.19 points or 0.39% at 2890.43 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, Sadhana Nitro Chem Ltd (up 7.34%), Meghmani Organics Ltd (up 4.05%),Transpek Industry Ltd (up 3.66%),Dhanuka Agritech Ltd (up 3.59%),Vikas Ecotech Ltd (up 3.05%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gravita India Ltd (up 2.95%), N R Agarwal Industries Ltd (up 2.86%), Manali Petrochemicals Ltd (up 2.75%), Jayant Agro Organics Ltd (up 2.57%), and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (up 2.47%).

On the other hand, Uniply Industries Ltd (down 5%), Pokarna Ltd (down 4.01%), and Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd (down 3.22%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 116.25 or 0.28% at 41440.06.

The Nifty 50 index was up 22.95 points or 0.19% at 12192.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 71.81 points or 0.49% at 14723.57.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 12.89 points or 0.26% at 5027.71.

On BSE,948 shares were trading in green, 484 were trading in red and 72 were unchanged.
