Capital Goods shares tumble
Capital Goods stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index falling 279.49 points or 1.64% at 16807.93 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (down 2.39%), Havells India Ltd (down 2.31%),HEG Ltd (down 2.28%),Graphite India Ltd (down 2.24%),V-Guard Industries Ltd (down 1.69%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bharat Electronics Ltd (down 1.3%), Schaeffler India Ltd (down 1.16%), Siemens Ltd (down 1.08%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.04%), and NBCC (India) Ltd (down 1.01%).
On the other hand, GMR Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.08%), Carborundum Universal Ltd (up 1.2%), and Finolex Cables Ltd (up 0.34%) moved up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 196.86 or 0.48% at 40672.61.
The Nifty 50 index was down 63.15 points or 0.52% at 11989.8.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 7.33 points or 0.05% at 13844.06.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 4.24 points or 0.09% at 4768.29.
On BSE,801 shares were trading in green, 1461 were trading in red and 167 were unchanged.
