Oil and Gas shares fall

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index falling 180.16 points or 1.24% at 14308.41 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 2.49%), Castrol India Ltd (down 1.77%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.72%),Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.59%),Petronet LNG Ltd (down 1.5%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were GAIL (India) Ltd (down 0.88%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.68%), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.48%).

On the other hand, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.36%), and Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.11%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 196.86 or 0.48% at 40672.61.

The Nifty 50 index was down 63.15 points or 0.52% at 11989.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 7.33 points or 0.05% at 13844.06.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 4.24 points or 0.09% at 4768.29.

On BSE,801 shares were trading in green, 1461 were trading in red and 167 were unchanged.
