Consumer goods stocks slide

Consumer goods stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index decreasing 8.64 points or 0.23% at 3723.04 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Titan Company Ltd (down 9.39%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 5.99%),Future Enterprises Ltd (down 5.71%),Ashiana Housing Ltd (down 5.44%),Den Networks Ltd (down 4.88%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were MT Educare Ltd (down 4.82%), V-Mart Retail Ltd (down 4.74%), Sintex Industries Ltd (down 4.69%), Cox & Kings Ltd (down 4.64%), and S Chand & Company Ltd (down 3.97%).

 

On the other hand, PC Jeweller Ltd (up 11.28%), Gabriel India Ltd (up 10.52%), and Peninsula Land Ltd (up 8.89%) turned up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 275.94 or 0.69% at 40524.17.

The Nifty 50 index was up 69.35 points or 0.58% at 11986.55.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 11.49 points or 0.08% at 13510.55.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 11.07 points or 0.24% at 4657.27.

On BSE,1169 shares were trading in green, 1159 were trading in red and 170 were unchanged.
