Healthcare shares gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 120.01 points or 0.79% at 15221.66 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Morepen Laboratories Ltd (up 9.96%), Albert David Ltd (up 8.43%),Laurus Labs Ltd (up 5.78%),Vimta Labs Ltd (up 5.51%),Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 4.96%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were FDC Ltd (up 4.52%), Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd (up 4.34%), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 3.95%), Neuland Laboratories Ltd (up 3.77%), and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 3.34%).

On the other hand, Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 4.95%), Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd (down 4.95%), and Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 2.58%) moved lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 37.38 or 0.12% at 30674.09.

The Nifty 50 index was down 19 points or 0.21% at 8962.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 90.55 points or 0.86% at 10474.3.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 39.42 points or 1.07% at 3661.62.

On BSE,600 shares were trading in green, 877 were trading in red and 77 were unchanged.
