Healthcare stocks edge higher

Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 134.58 points or 0.96% at 14140.03 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Medicamen Biotech Ltd (up 3.56%), Granules India Ltd (up 3.11%),Natco Pharma Ltd (up 2.97%),Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (up 2.82%),Hester Biosciences Ltd (up 2.56%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 1.71%), Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd (up 1.71%), Vimta Labs Ltd (up 1.67%), Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (up 1.66%), and Cadila Healthcare Ltd (up 1.64%).

On the other hand, Indoco Remedies Ltd (down 1.7%), Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd (down 1.56%), and Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 1.31%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 116.25 or 0.28% at 41440.06.

The Nifty 50 index was up 22.95 points or 0.19% at 12192.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 71.81 points or 0.49% at 14723.57.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 12.89 points or 0.26% at 5027.71.

On BSE,948 shares were trading in green, 484 were trading in red and 72 were unchanged.
