Healthcare stocks spurt

Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 696.18 points or 5.16% at 14200.19 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Morepen Laboratories Ltd (up 19.95%), Nectar Lifescience Ltd (up 15.92%),Kilitch Drugs (India) Ltd (up 14.89%),Solara Active Pharma Sciences Ltd (up 13.81%),Syngene International Ltd (up 13.56%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gufic BioSciences Ltd (up 13.3%), Vivimed Labs Ltd (up 12.26%), Neuland Laboratories Ltd (up 12.08%), Ipca Laboratories Ltd (up 11.58%), and Vimta Labs Ltd (up 11.44%).

On the other hand, Aster DM Healthcare Ltd (down 0.11%), turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 552.46 or 1.84% at 30619.67.

The Nifty 50 index was up 158.95 points or 1.81% at 8951.15.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 299.15 points or 3.05% at 10096.36.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 113.12 points or 3.24% at 3602.54.

On BSE,1072 shares were trading in green, 283 were trading in red and 51 were unchanged.
