The Japan share market finished the session mixed on Tuesday, 12 December 2017, as investor risk sentiments were in a circumspect mood and avoided taking bold positions ahead of key central banks policy decisions this week. The European Central Bank will hold a policy meeting on Thursday while the US Federal Reserve is due to announce its latest interest rate decision on Wednesday. Among TSE 33 sectors, food and precision instrument-linked stocks comprised those that declined the most by the close of play. Mining and bank issues, meanwhile, led those that gained. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 72.56 points, or 0.32%, to end the day at 22,866.17. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, inched 1.74 points, or 0.10%, higher to 1,815.08.
