Oil and Gas shares gain

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 265.18 points or 1.85% at 14604.6 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 4.83%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 4.34%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.84%),Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 1.83%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 1.41%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.25%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.19%).

On the other hand, Castrol India Ltd (down 0.61%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 0.2%), and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 0.18%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 385.67 or 1% at 38979.19.

The Nifty 50 index was up 118.15 points or 1.03% at 11558.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 60.34 points or 0.45% at 13444.11.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 26.06 points or 0.58% at 4509.39.

On BSE,1013 shares were trading in green, 455 were trading in red and 51 were unchanged.
