Oil and Gas shares tumble
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index falling 255.19 points or 1.72% at 14563.05 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 4.6%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 3.12%),Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 2.58%),Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 2.35%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.48%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Castrol India Ltd (down 1.48%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 1.36%).
On the other hand, Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.62%), Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.55%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.23%) moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 124.81 or 0.33% at 37798.12.
The Nifty 50 index was up 31.6 points or 0.28% at 11206.35.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 71.03 points or 0.55% at 12737.63.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 5.61 points or 0.13% at 4310.65.
On BSE,907 shares were trading in green, 1423 were trading in red and 217 were unchanged.
