Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 1.62%

Nifty Metal index ended up 1.62% at 5759.6 today. The index has gained 18.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindalco Industries Ltd rose 4.44%, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd added 2.72% and Welspun Corp Ltd dropped 2.70%. The Nifty Metal index has soared 3.00% over last one year compared to the 7.71% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index has dropped 0.89% and Nifty Realty index is down 0.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.06% to close at 17534.75 while the SENSEX has slid 0.06% to close at 58817.29 today.
