Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 2.02%

Nifty Metal index ended up 2.02% at 3175.1 today. The index has lost 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Copper Ltd rose 6.24%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd jumped 3.83% and MOIL Ltd added 3.00%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 13.00% over last one year compared to the 5.37% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index increased 1.53% and Nifty Energy index increased 1.51% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.77% to close at 10888.35 while the SENSEX increased 0.85% to close at 36270.07 today.
