Organised retailer Future Retail galloped 4.83% to Rs 144.40. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. Shares of organised retailers rose on reports that a government panel has recommended a major liberalisation of the foreign direct investment (FDI) regime, including allowing foreign supermarkets to buy up to 74% in Indian retailers with prior government approval.
The multi-brand retail sector was thrown open to foreign investors in September 2012 allowing them to hold 51% in retail companies but has failed to see any investment so far.
Mobile operator Idea Cellular jumped 4.52% to Rs 147.90. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 150.65 in intraday today, 19 June 2013. Telecom stocks extended their recent gains on reports that a government panel has recommended raising the FDI limit to 100% from 74% in telecom.
Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services climbed 4.44% to Rs 278.95. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock hit a record high of Rs 287.50 in intraday today, 19 June 2013.
Indiabulls Real Estate rose 4.07% to Rs 71.60. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
