Gentiloni back at work after heart procedure

Rome, Jan 16 (IANS/AKI) Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni on Monday held a meeting with Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan, less than a week after he had emergency heart surgery block to unblock an artery.

Gentiloni was discharged from Rome's Policlinico Gemelli hospital on Saturday after his angioplasty procedure and chaired a cabinet meeting in Rome the same day.

Hospital doctors said Tuesday's operation had been a complete success and Gentiloni tweeted on Wednesday that he felt "very well".

The 62-year-old premier was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after he complained of discomfort on his return to Rome from an official visit to Paris.
