Newborn turtles saved in Mathura

A pair of recently hatched flapshell turtles was rescued by Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Unit in Mathura.
The hatchlings were kept under observation for a few hours, after which they were released in Keetham Lake in Agra, a press statement said.
Residents of Shahkunj Colony were digging up soil pits for plantation in a neighbourhood park when they came across the two newborn.
Worried about their safety, a resident contacted Wildlife SOS, whose members carefully transferred the hatchlings into a safe transport container.
