Nucleus Satellite Communication to have new plant in Sri City

City-based Nucleus Satellite Communiciations (Madras) on Friday laid the foundation for a new dish antenna plant at Sri City near here, announced Sri City Pvt. Ltd.

In a statement issued here, Sri City said Nucleus Satellite Communications, maker of direct-to-home (DTH) dish antennas, proposes to invest around Rs.25 crore in an eight acre plot.

The plant set up in the domestic tariff area (DTA) in Sri City is expected to be ready by this August will produce three kinds of dish antennae - of 45 cm, 60 cm and 100 cm diameter. The unit will employ about 200 people.

"This is the third groundbreaking event in a row during the past two weeks, and we are very happy to welcome yet another new client 'Nucleus' to the electronic manufacturing cluster being developed in Sri City," Sri City managing director Ravindra Sannareddy was quoted as saying in the statement.
