A court here Tuesday summoned a joint commissioner of Delhi Police observing that forensic reports have not been filed yet in the maid torture-and-death case against former parliamentarian Dhananjay Singh and his wife Jagriti Singh.

Additional Sessions Judge Lokesh Kumar Sharma pulled up Delhi Police for not taking the murder case seriously.

The station house officer of Chanakyapuri Police Station filed a status report in the court but said that FSL reports were still awaited.

The arguments for framing the charges in the case could not begin Tuesday as the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report has not been filed.

The court has directed the joint commissioner of police to appear in the court Sep 24, the date fixed for further hearing, and explain the delay in filing the forensic report.

Singh, a former MP from Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur, along with his wife Jagriti was charge-sheeted Feb 1 for various offences, including destroying evidence and abetting murder and attempt to murder.

He and his wife, who is a dental surgeon in a government hospital here, were arrested in November 2013.
