Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu Friday indicated that his party is ready to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the centre.

He told reporters that the TDP joined the NDA in the national interest and would work together to take the country forward on the path of development.

The TDP-BJP alliance won 17 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra. With 15 seats, TDP has emerged as the second largest party in the NDA.

Naidu, whose party is set to form government in Seemandhra, said the TDP had joined the NDA for the first time. "We were never part of the NDA in the past. We joined for the first time and we will work together," he said.

The TDP leader said the NDA parliamentary party would meet to take decisions relating to the union ministry.
